The works exhibited here have been selected from a series of monoprints, each different, made from cut-out stencils that the artist has made from photographs of the stars and idols of Egypt and the Arab world.

With the emotional memories of a period past and present, of famous actors and actresses, Kings and princesses, streets, or domestic objects and animals, Avedissian visualises the many facets of his city – Cairo – and its symbols, with humour and nostalgia, making us wonder, where and who are the stars of today?
