ARAB FILM FESTIVAL
NFT, LONDON (1987)
This film season marked the first of many collaborations between Rose Issa and the National Film Theatre, London.
The festival brought to the audience over thirty titles among the classics and contemporary Arab films: Lakhdar-Hamina’s 'Years of the Brazier', which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes Film Festival in 1975, several of Youssef Chahine’s films, 'The Land' (1969) and 'The Sparrow' (1973), Khalid al Siddiq’s 'The Cruel Sea' (1972) and 'The Wedding of Zein' (1976), Maroun Baghdadi's 'Little Wars', (1982), Samir Zikra’s 'Chronicle of the Coming Year' (1986), Mohammad Malas’s 'Dreams of the City’ (1984), Burhan Alawiyeh’s 'Kafr Qassem' (1974) and Nacer Khemir’s 'Searchers in the Desert' (1984).
