IN MORPHEUS ARMEN

CCB ANTWERP
19 FEB–3 MAY 1998

Featuring the work of Chant Avedissian, Christine Khondji and Qanna Sambata (1945–1991), this exhibition shows the artists’ shared ability to transform their creative imagination into metaphors of their personal heritage.

Avedissian’s “Icons of the Nile” are a homage to the Egypt of his youth; Khondji’s “Djinn” are from her dreams and a voyage of self-discovery; and Sambata’s allegorical paintings stress the power of the collective.
